When there is change or conflict in the family or a family member is experiencing difficulties, family therapy allows the time and space to explore and understand different thoughts and emotions. These sessions allow a family to build on their strengths to create a more supportive and inclusive environment.

Working in partnership with families, our therapists guide families through the process, addressing the difficult emotions to help build understanding between family members and the ability to effectively help each other.

Family Therapy aims to support family members to:

  • Express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions

  • Understand and appreciate each other’s views, needs and experiences

  • Navigate changes in relationships and lives to create a more inclusive, supportive, and understanding family environment.

By addressing the personal relations and interactions between the family, family therapists engage the whole family unit. Research shows that this approach helps make individual members of the family feel supported and heard by the people they value the most.
