Lauren Jenkins

Lauren is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and trainee Family Therapist, with over a decade of experience working with young people and their families. Lauren considers the whole person and their experiences and focuses on building trust and safety for her clients. She works from a warm, empathic relational perspective that centres relationships (both romantic and personal) and identifies family and community as sources of healing.

Over the last decade, Lauren has worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health in acute and community settings, and has provided family-based therapy across multiple services. Her practice is trauma-informed, grounded in building connections and helping families build better relationships and support one another.

Lauren works with children, adolescents and adults in both individual and whole-family settings. Lauren has experience in treating depression, anxiety, trauma-based symptoms and eating disorders. Lauren's practice flexibly draws upon a range of evidence-based therapies and family-centred approaches. She is also skilled at working with relationship difficulties, including family and marital conflict across generations.

Lauren is currently completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Family Therapy at the renowned Bouverie Centre in Melbourne. In addition to her adolescent and family work, Lauren has a particular interest in working with women who have experienced domestic violence and are seeking to rebuild their sense of safety, identity and trust in relationships.
