Alex Lewinski

Alex supports adolescent girls and young women, predominantly aged 12-25, whose mental health is affecting everyday life. This may include difficulties with school, study or work, relationships, eating, self-care, routines or developing independence.

With a decade of experience across mental health and paediatrics in private practice, headspace and government services, Alex brings a collaborative, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approach. She commonly works with anxiety, low mood, emotional dysregulation, neurodivergence and the effects of trauma or difficult life experiences - particularly when several factors are interacting.

Alex takes time to understand the young person’s priorities, strengths and circumstances, including the demands of their everyday environments. Together, they identify what is getting in the way and work towards meaningful goals, with attention to both participation and the effort it requires.

Her work combines occupational therapy with psychological approaches, practical strategies and changes to routines or environments. Her training includes EMDR, sensory integration, psychotherapeutic approaches such as DBP and ACT, and yoga therapy, which inform individually tailored care. Parents, carers, schools and other professionals may be involved where appropriate and agreed.

Outside work, Alex enjoys singing and making music, trail running, yoga and spending time with her daughter, nieces and nephews.
